We are back in Cairo on the morning of Tuesday, April 8, 1975. We check in an agency our train and hotel reservations for Alexandria. In the evening we watch the spectacle of sound and lights around the pyramids of Guizèh. On Wednesday 9th April we visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. On Thursday, April 10, we stroll in the Khan El Khalili bazaar where we buy some souvenirs. On Friday, April 11, at 8 am we take the train to Alexandria. The following days we visit the city but we spend mostly time on the beach to enjoy the sun before returning to France. On Monday, April 14, 1975, we board the train at 8 am to travel back to Cairo. Arriving in Cairo we take a taxi to get to the airport from where we take off at 1:20 pm on a Boeing 707 from Air France. We arrive at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle at 17:20.

Back in Cairo: a mosque.
Midan Tahrir Square, on the right you see the Nile Hilton Hotel (not our hotel!) And, in the background, you can see the Cairo Tower. It measures 187 metres in height, at the top there is a panoramic restaurant in which we have lunch. The dining room makes a full tour during our meal.
View of the Nile with, on the other side, the Cairo tower.
Another mosque.
We are now in Alexandria. At the bottom of the bay, on the left, you can see Fort Kaitbay, home to the Marine Museum. The ancient lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, stood at the site of this fort.
Walking in Alexandria: another mosque.
The Mediterranean.
After a last swim, one must think of returning to France.
From our Boeing 707, I take a first look at France, above the Alps, after seven months of absence.
